You’ve Got Email. Now What?

A long time ago in a less technologically advanced world that now seems far, far away, if you wanted to communicate with prospective clients you had to seek them out, mail fliers (snail mail! how quaint!), host events, and make phone calls. This communiqué was tedious and time consuming.

Businesses had no real data readily available to analyze if anyone actually received, let alone opened, your flier or if they even “liked” it. There were very few affordable and effective systems in place that business owners or marketers could use to regularly keep your offerings top-of-mind. And you, or your marketing team, had virtually no way of tracking what resonated with your prospects and what didn’t.

Then came the advent of email, glorious email. Ever since the first electronic mail was exchanged in the 1970’s, businesses have been using it as a primary marketing tool to reach more people with less effort and more analytical data.

But with all of the clutter that overwhelms our inboxes every day, how can you grab your prospects attention, increase your open rates, and ultimately drive sales?

Our Marketing Manager gives her 4 Tips to Drive Email Marketing Below:

1.) Be Consistent

Your audience signed up to receive emails from you because they want to hear from you. Create a content calendar of relevant topics and make it a goal to post consistently. Whether that’s every week or every month, create a schedule that works for your organization and then stick to it.

2.) Give Them What They Want

Relevancy and audience-appropriate topics are the easiest ways to grow your email lists, increase your open rates, and increase engagement. Keep your audience in mind as you write and keep your message on-target.

3.) Analyze and Revise

With a variety of relationship platforms on the market, it’s easier now than ever before to track which emails received the highest open rates and which topics fell flat. Analyze that data and revise your content calendar accordingly.

4.) Sharing is Caring

Your information in valuable. You know that, your audience knows that, now other people need to know that. Make it easy for people to share your content by adding social share links to your emails and sidebar.
