In today’s post, he talks about the critical value of having a positive attitude. Join us for Boaz’s January 23rd presentation by registering here.

Attitude is not a part of our success and happiness, it’s everything.

At the beginning of each day, we all have choices as to our attitude. The thing to keep in mind is that the subconscious mind—that part of the brain where all thoughts and experiences are stored—can’t  tell the difference between something real and something we imagine.

A certain attitude is set when we say to ourselves, “I never get any opportunities. The economy isn’t very good. I can’t get ahead.”Those are all very powerful orders to our subconscious minds. They are taken in, without judgment, as being real. And then we act as if that is our reality.

Have you ever heard someone say, “Gee, I’m clumsy”? Just watch, 10 minutes later they’re tripping over something. When we say, “You shouldn’t say that,” they respond by saying, “I was just kidding.” As I said, the subconscious mind doesn’t know the difference between something real and something we imagine. It takes the “I’m clumsy” thought and brings it into reality by having the person trip over something.

Thus, it’s very important to post a mental guard at the door of our minds—to avoid thoughts that don’t help us enter in a positive way.

One suggestion: A great daily attitude begins by not watching late evening news on television. (I used to be a newscaster. They didn’t tell us to find positive stories.) Turn off the news. Read a good book or listen to pleasant music before going to sleep.

Then, in the morning, don’t turn on radio or television news. Stop getting the newspaper. If something major happens, you can be sure someone will let you know. Instead, read positive affirmations (out loud) that empower your thoughts toward positive achievements. Here are some strong, positive affirmations:

  • Everything I think prospers and succeeds.
  • I am a talented, capable, powerful high-achiever.
  • Great opportunities and wonderful people come into my life regularly.
  • I am proud of me.
  • I am excited about life.

Don’t analyze these positive affirmations as you say them. Just say them out loud each day. Your subconscious mind is listening and making note. As you continue, for at least 90 days, you will start to realize that you are becoming what you are saying.
