On Wednesday, October 24, Catapult Groups hosts the first in our inaugural Business Webinar Series. Our first topic, “7 Methods for Maximum Performance,” contains valuable tips and insights for CEOs, business leaders and owners everywhere. I will present at this webinar, together with Catapult Groups Leader Doug Beckley. I invite you to join us by registering for “7 Methods for Maximum Performance” today.

One of the methods for maximizing your performance centers on what I call “intentionality”—that is, your ability to be relentless in pursuit of your vision for success.

Let’s face it: In these frenzied times, it’s incredibly difficult to stay focused and work methodically on anything, let alone an enterprise as complex as running a business. What I see time and again in our Catapult Groups sessions is that circumstances are constantly hijacking the ability of CEOs and business owners to plan for the future. Worse yet, they are letting this happen. They’re allowing all sorts of things to get in the way of their strategic vision and it’s hurting their business.

We all know the culprits–everything from email interruptions and idle chit-chat to making decisions that aren’t critical to the strategic mission of the company and failing to schedule “strategic time” to think about the company’s future. The CEO’s #1 job is to remain focused and strategic, not to get tangled up in minutiae. If you’re not taking time to look further ahead for the business, who will? This means starting every day with an end in mind. It means carrying out every action with the intention to produce outcomes that prove to be game-changers for your business.

You need to be in control of your day, not the other way around. Anything less than this is, frankly, a waste of your valuable time and does nothing to move your business forward.

Other topics that we’re discussing in the Oct. 24th webinar include:

  • How to control your time
  • Delegate effectively
  • How to handle interruptions
  • Set clear expectations
  • Feedback and coaching

Moving the company forward through intention is your job as CEO. Create the strategic direction and let your team focus on day-to-day operations. Join us at 10:00 a.m. PDT/1:00 p.m. EDT on October 24th to learn more about how to avoid letting circumstances hijack your vision.
