What We Believe We Can Achieve
As Napoleon Hill states in his book, Think and Grow Rich, “Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.” Whether you think positively or negatively, you are conceiving thoughts. When you conceive a thought long enough, you come to believe it. So, whatever you conceive and believe, you achieve. Good or bad. To achieve the very best in life, always think positive, success-oriented thoughts. Stay away from negative thoughts, negative people and negative environments.
Today is a great day to write down three or four important goals for the next month. When identifying goals, be sure to set them at a level that you actually see and believe. Set them just slightly above where you’ve been before. If you set them too high, your subconscious mind will not become your partner because you’re reaching for ground with which it is not familiar.
So, set some achievable goals for this month right now. If you question any one of your goals, lower it. Set it at a point where you see it as easy to achieve and then aim to surpass it. Then transform your goals into affirmations, with a date and an emotion.
Powerful affirmations
The following is a powerful affirmation that I suggest you read, out loud, the first thing every morning and the last thing each night.
“I am a positive-thinking, success-oriented high achiever. I look for the best in myself and in others, make the best effort and expect success every day. I am a Champion.”
Read that affirmation twice a day, every day, without analysis, and you’ll find yourself looking for the good and making an extra effort to achieve success. A champion does 10% more than the average person. Since how you think is everything, you now choose to think success!
Then, as the affirmation begins to take root in your mind, you’ll find yourself focusing more on positive thoughts and taking small steps each day to move yourself closer to your goals.
“Unbelievable!”
When someone asks, “How are You?”, how do you respond? Do you say, “Fine” or “OK?” Is that how you want your life to be? Just fine? Or just OK? Not for me. I want my life to be terrific!
So, when people ask how you are, why not say, “Unbelievable!” Even if it isn’t that way yet, let’s pretend until it is. When you enthusiastically respond with “Unbelievable!” everyone will give you the benefit of the doubt and think that you’re doing great. If they follow up and ask, “Is it really going that good?”, respond by saying, “All I can say is that it’s unbelievable!”
Do it enthusiastically and everyone will think you’re doing great and spread good rumors about you. You will most likely improve the other person’s day because you’ll showing that you’re alive and excited about life. The “Unbelievable!” response always puts a smile on other people’s faces, whether in person or on the phone. If I’m not feeling good, I do it anyway. Just pretending makes me feel better.
